Augmentin is a set of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid – a combined antibacterial agent, a combination of a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic, from the group of semisynthetic penicillins – Amoxicillin and a beta-lactamase inhibitor – Clavulanic acid.


The drug is taken orally.
It is recommended to use 11 ml of a suspension at a dosage of 400 mg + 57 mg in 5 ml, which is equivalent to 1 table. 875 mg + 125 mg.

Augmentin side effects

Infectious and parasitic diseases: often – candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes.
On the part of the blood and lymphatic system: rarely – reversible leukopenia (including neutropenia), reversible thrombocytopenia; very rarely – reversible agranulocytosis and reversible hemolytic anemia, anemia, eosinophilia, thrombocytosis.
On the part of the immune system: very rarely – angioedema, anaphylactic reactions, allergic vasculitis.
From the nervous system: infrequently – dizziness, headache; very rarely – reversible hyperactivity, convulsions, insomnia, agitation, anxiety, behavior change.
From the gastrointestinal tract: very often – diarrhea; often – nausea, vomiting.

Augmentin and alcohol

Augmentin and alcohol, it is better not to drink together. This is a serious blow to health. Alcohol does not completely erase the therapeutic effect of the antibiotic, but it can stall treatment.
